Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Whilst SKY have Ricky Burn Vs. Terence Crawford next Saturday, Boxnation have a double header. It's Abaraham Vs. Stieglitz III followed by Chavez Jr. Vs. Vera II. On the card from the States, Lomachenko faces Solido for the world title in only his second professional bout! Can't wait!

At first I was thinking Crawford would win convincingly however the past few days have got me leaning towards Burns.
Crawford arrived in Scotland 24 hours later than expected after missing his original flight. Rumors from his camp yesterday suggesting he's struggled to get into a regular sleeping pattern and is pretty hacked off at how cold and wet it is here. He turned up at the press conference looking pretty disinterested and wouldn't engage in conversation. At times trying to get one word answers was like pulling teeth. Of course this could all be a big act however he's showing all the signs of someone that is either missing home comforts or possibly struggling with the weight.
Crawford has never had a 12 round fight, and only has 81 rounds under his belt. He's fought at a lower level than Ricky so far and has never boxed outside the States. The crowd in Glasgow will be rabid on Saturday and will generate hostility Crawford has never boxed in front of before.
If Crawford has genuinely had issues settling this week, and it's not all an act, he might just be Rickys Jeff Lacy.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Boxnation is not going up in price on the Virgin Media platform. From the 1st April the subscription goes up to £12.00 for SKY customers however the price will stay at £10.00 for those who subscribe via Virgin Media. Talks between the channel and Virgin Media are still ongoing in regards to Boxnation HD launching. It's not a case of if, it's a case of when...... which should be soon.
Boxnation also confirmed today that "We’ll never ask channel subscribers to pay-per-view. This new facility is for non-subscribers only." They're playing their cards close to their chest in regards to what their PPV plans are going forward.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Anybody interested in the art of boxing may wish to watch a BBC2 programme tomorrow evening (Monday 17 March 2014) at 10pm.
Author and columnist Tony Parsons will be looking at the cultural giants who have shared a passion for the sport, both in their work and private life.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
boxrec now have the copperbox show 12.4.14 as follows
Skeete v TBA
Buglioni v TBA
Smith v TBA
Conquest v TBA
they must be losing money on these events as they don't seem to know how to promote a fight which seems strange the years frank warren has been in the game? maybe its due to the loss of dean powell but I don't think so as the shows fell apart before he died!
surely its not hard the get decent opponents before announcing a show?

Sadly this has been a common theme since Dean passed. Buying a ticket for a Frank Warren show at the moment is a gamble.

Not a blockbuster however I'm keen to watch Eubank Vs. Hope and Eddie Chambers against Lewison.

I must admit I enjoy watching the crusher. Usually I'll pick up on a rumor if Boxnation are close to picking up a fight but I've not heard a peep about this weekends action. Hopefully it's under the radar and will be confirmed in the next few days. Tend to find if nothing has been confirmed by a Thursday, the fight won't be shown. Fingers crossed.

Re: BoxNation on Virgin Media?
Press release today regarding Boxnation:
"Boxing Channel Media Ltd., owners and operators of BoxNation, the UK-based subscription boxing channel, provides an update today following its statement to the market on December 5, 2013 regarding its plans to IPO on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
The Board announces that, following an approach from a significant private investment, it has decided to withdraw its current plan to IPO on AIM and is to carry out a strategic review across the Company, which will see the underlying business and management team strengthened.
Following the Board’s decision to withdraw its plans to IPO, Richard Brooke, who has been Chairman since the launch of the channel, has stepped down to focus on other business interests and will be replaced by Frank Warren, arguably Britain's best known and most successful boxing promoter over the past 30 years.
Further Board changes include Jim McMunn, formerly of Endemol Sport and Setanta Sports, who has been appointed as Managing Director of BoxNation, and George Warren, Managing Director of Queensberry Promotions, joins to become Commercial Director of BoxNation.
The Board is also delighted to announce that Bill Ives, Chairman of Rainham Steel, and one of Britain’s most successful businessmen and entrepreneurs, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company. Alongside Bill Ives the Company also welcomes Alison Chapman, who has been Financial Director at Rainham Steel for the past 13 years, as Finance Director at the Company.
The Board will provide a further update to the market, following the ongoing strategic review, later this month.
Commenting on today’s news, Frank Warren, Chairman of Boxing Channel Media Ltd. said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Richard Brooke, who has guided BoxNation from its embryonic stage to the substantial independent subscription platform it is today. He has been a major asset to the business over the past two and-a-half years and we wish him well for the future.
“I am delighted to be appointed Chairman and I am firmly behind the shareholders’ decision to remain a private company. I am excited for BoxNation’s future and look forward to aiding its continued growth and development into one of the UK’s premium sports platforms. We have shown some of, if not the best boxing events from around the world, and the UK since our launch in 2011 and our aim is to continue in this vein whilst developing other areas of the business".
Newly appointed Managing Director of BoxNation, Jim McMunn added: “These are exciting times for BoxNation with a host of sensational events coming up.
“The channel currently has its strongest ever schedule with standout events such as; Manny Pacquiao v Timothy Bradley, Floyd Mayweather v Marcos Maidana, which also features Amir Khan and Adrien Broner, and the blockbuster heavyweight showdown between Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury in the summer.
“Our recent major investment in the HD platform and Pay-Per-View facility has been greatly received and I look forward to continuing the channel’s vision in becoming a major sports pay TV service with boxing at its heart.”
A few Tweets from Boxnation today in reply to queries about when Boxnation HD will launch on Virgin Media. Sadly it doesn't sound too positive:
"Virgin Media have been offered BoxNation in HD and we'd love to see it happen."
"Virgin have been offered BoxNation in HD and we'd love to see that happen one day."
