Cheapest Infinity Unlimited BB package appears to be £23 a month which compared to Sky Fibre is £3 more expensive however with free BT Sport would save you money that said its vastly dearer for those like myself who are happy enough with Skys Unlimited ADSL service which only costs £7.50 a month even when you factor £10 for BT Sport in on Sky you'd still save money staying with Sky and adding BT Sport.

BT is set to give free access to its sports channel showing live Premier League football to a million subscribers who take its high-speed fibre optic broadband service.

The telecoms giant is expected to announce the plan on Friday when it unveils full-year figures likely to show profits up five per cent to £2.5billion for the year to March 31.

It is also set to reveal the price of BT Sport for subscribers who take the channel direct from BT rather than via rival broadcasters such as Sky. City bank Nomura reckons this will be £10 a month.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Vision...HD/td-p/850862

BT customers have seen the following channels update on their boxes.

BT Sport 1 - Channel 943
BT Sport 2 - Channel 944
BT Sport 1 HD - Channel 945
BT Sport 2 HD - Channel 946

There is also a suggestion that 2 HD channels are testing on SKY.

"Apprarently on the Sky platform there are now 2 HD BT Sport channels positions that are currently encrypted in addition to the the two SD channels that can currently be viewed showing a a "BT Sport Coming Soon" image."

"They're testing through the 'other channels' manual tuning part of the Sky Guide apparantly. Not sure what frequency they're using though."

It certainly looks like BT Sports is gathering pace. Hopefully by the end of this week we will know how much it'll cost and what channels will be on what platforms.

BT 'needs Sky’s help’ to succeed in sports TV.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

UFC comes to BT Sport

Upstart sports TV providers BT Sport have confirmed a three-year broadcast deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) - and MotoGP could soon follow.

The company, who are moving into the sports TV realm with the summer launch of two BT Sport channels, plus an ESPN-branded channel, already have 38 Premier League matches per year for three years and exclusive live coverage of Premiership Rugby for four.

And now the channel are set to bolster their portfolio with the additions of UFC and MotoGP to their channels' schedules.

As we reported previously on Mirror Online, the UFC deal - which was officially announced this morning - is set to offer comprehensive coverage of the world's biggest MMA promotion, with live events backed up with BT-produced primetime magazine shows and highlight programming aimed at introducing the fast-rising sport of mixed martial arts to a new audience.

The three-year partnership will see all of UFC’s live and taped programming broadcast on the BT Sport channels and, for the first time, will include originally produced programming for the UK and Irish audience with exclusive access which will result in up to 400 hours of TV programming to UFC’s loyal fanbase.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Not sure if this will affect the 30 SPL and 10 SFL2 games featuring Rangers which are moving to BT Sports, but I'd assume the play offs that will now be played at the end of the season might be shown on TV as well.

It doesn't need Sky's help at all. It can reach Sky's customers without having to wholesale to Sky. The Telegraph really are looking like a misinformed piece of **** when it comes to reporting on this new sporting venture from British Telecom.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sky and BT kissed and made up - SS1 and SS2 in a swap for BTS1 and BTS2 and left Virgin out in the cold or rather £10 a month worse off.

BT will have 4 sports channels, maybe they're holding out for all 6 Sky Sports channels.

A scenario but a unlikely one.

[QUOTE=denphone;35569150]A scenario but a unlikely

If VM didn't carry BT sports I wonder if the loss of revenue (from customers leaving) would be less than the cost of carrying the channels? What do you think?
