Right this one (Arteta) is being confirmed by credible sources at Arsenal not just media horsepoo. I'm annoyed, Arsenal better be have something else lined up!

from bbc
750: Er, bad news for Everton fans. BBC sports news correspondent Dan Roan says Arsenal and Everton are now talking over a possible deal for Mikel Arteta. And BBC Sport's David Ornstein tells me that Arteta is now the only player the Gunners are pursuing before the window shut. How do you feel about that, Gunners fans?

Yes sources close to the club say this deal is 50/50 at the moment for Cahill.
Rumours that Daniel Sturridge is about to have a medical at Liverpool.

Doubt it. Transfer fee too large and we now have 5/6 center backs, three of whom are 'first team'.

But Arsenal will not pay the £15 million that Bolton want.
BREAKING NEWS is that Arteta deal is off.

Re: Football Season 2011/12 - Transfer Deadline Day Spectacular
Did you just see Payton on SkySportsNews? Arsenals transfer nets are set further out at sea and he's saying us Arsenal fans would be happy with Arteta and Benayoun when we've been linked to moves for M'Vila, Gotez, Vargas etc. etc. Do one Payton!!! A message needs to be sent to the board even at this late stage. Has this AST guy forgotten the promise of change then ended up seeing Fabregas and Nasri leave, just about getting into the CL, the 3 premier league results!

Not in for Arteta apparently. Withdrawn Interest in order to get Benayoun on loan. Pathetic. It's not Payton's fault - it's the boards.

There all smoke screens in my opinion, Arsenal were linked to top quality yesterday... Wengers been travelling.
Payton shouldn't be saying us Arsenal fans would be happy with Arteta its simple. Its his thoughts and a few twitter nutters that are desperate. The bar at Arsenal is high, these don't come any where near it plus Arsene said he'll only sign top quality.. top quality were mentioned yesterday.. today, well from the media hype its been disappointing.
Judging by Paytons comments on SSN... it pretty much sums up why us fans have been mugged. If thats the sort of pressure AST puts Arsenal under then there might as well not be a supporters trust.. completely useless!
