Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
I've escaped so far. Glad to see they've listened to their customers.
Would disconnecting the cable lead at night (but leaving it powered on) stop the downgrade ?

I believe you. The majority of customers don't and are in for a nasty surprise when their apps stop working. Hope the faults line is ready.
So why wouldn't disconnecting the cable at night it work if you leave it powered on as well ? Presumably it couldn't do the 3am update and if it never reboots it'd never pick it up either ? Grasping at straws a bit I know......

The faults line would just say it's a unsupported app... which it is.
As soon as you reconnect the TiVo will pick up the update... resistance is futile

Christ we do have some unhappy people on here this morning but my advice is just be patient as there are many good things coming your way in the coming months.

The majority won't know that. All they know is that they had really useful apps that greatly increased their TiVo user experience. Now they've stop working because of VM's 'update'. VM will be in the firing line, I'd duck if I were you .....

Re: Coming soon to Virgin TV (2012) Vol. 1
When Diva TV Shuts down, will a new channel from the NBCUniversal company take its place like:
Chiller
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiller_(TV_network)
Style Network
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Style_Network
USA Network
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USA_Network
The Weather Channel
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Weather_Channel
or even Universal Channel 2 and if we are lucky Universal HD (only applys to Virgin Media)

Indeed
I'm being made redundant by them in less than 3 months, so I'm not defending them....
The Official Apps will be out soon enough

Not my problem, so nothing to duck for
I'm sure the official apps will be great, it's just unfortunate that there was/is a delay in releasing them

The majority of TiVo customers don't use the 3rd party apps, and those that do should be well aware it's unsupported, especially considering the work required to get the US iPad app to talk to the VM TiVo.
