Not seen anything in print to support your Amazon obsession - with the exception of a throwaway remark from the Premier League chief speculating that Amazon may be bidding (always good to keep the current rights holders on their toes, and inflate the price)

I didn't ignore it - I don't remember seeing it, so if this actually exists, I must have missed it.
If you Google this, there are pages and pages of sites claiming that Amazon is entering the fray and you are choosing to ignore all of that.
I do think Amazon could choose to stay out of the bidding process this year and then go for the jugular next time around. The reason I say this is that NBC have the rights to the Premiership games in the US until 2022, so it would make sense to wait until then.

Change of track OB
Now you are saying next rights issue, not the upcoming one.
I suppose eventually you may get your wish and they may enter the fray.
An interesting thought, provided by a friend yesterday, re competition.
Competition is only competition if all the games are available for any broadcaster to show.
Price would determine most customers choice and would be driven downwards to achieve a sustainable market share.
Have to say this would definitely get my vote!
Unfortunately, it is never going to happen as Premier League woul get less income from TV.

Does anyone know when the EPL games started to be shown live on the 5:30pm slot on a Saturday?
Thx

Just received an email from VM with an offer of half price Sky Sports for 12 months at £15.88
Seems a bit more like it

The article does state:
"In a statement BT said: "We’re changing some of our Landline, Broadband and BT Sport prices on 7 January 2018"
I thought BT Sport had just recently gone up in price? At this rate BT Sport is going to be at least the same price as SKY Sports.

The new price for BT Sports on Sky for those who do not have BT Broadband is going to £25.99 SD or £30.99 HD. Oh and there's a £20 activation for new subscribers.

Wow that's getting pretty expensive. I'm going into price comparison mode now
So the standard non-offer price for SKY Sports is £27.50 per month plus a further £6.00 for HD. Total amount per month is £33.50.
BT Sport is £25.99 per month plus a further £5.00 for HD. Total amount per month is £30.99 however with the £20.00 activation fee the total amount you'll pay over the first 12 months works out at £32.65. Less than £1 cheaper than SKY Sports. BT also charge a further £6.00 per month if you want to watch BT Sport on a second SKY box. Keep in mind though you get AMC and Boxnation with BT Sport so it might be a good deal for some.
