Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
It's been a fairly carp week this week, all things considered, but the sunshine has come out today, as my daughter (from my first marriage) has just passed her driving test, and my son (from my current marriage) has got a place to study History at University.

My carp week commiserates with your carp week.
Good news about your son and daughter though. I take it your son got the results he was hoping for?

Unfortunately not - he didn't listen to his mum and dad's advice re studying more and drinking and playing rugby less during A level year (so unusual for an 18 year old, I know.. ); he had to go through clearing, and was one of the lucky ones who found a place.

Something which may make him realise that he will have pay more attention to his course work whilst at Uni. Going through the clearing process can be a wake-up call to some students. I know a friend of my son's did it, after what for him were disastrous results due to his partying, and he went on to get a 1st.
