Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
It doesn't specifically say that it won't be, but I think your conclusion is probably right. Still, when the Sky channels come up for renegotiation with Virgin in three years time.....
Oh, great, just seen this....

Sky sees it as a way of adding added value to existing customers to help stop them thinking about defecting to a rival, namely BT Sport but also operators such as Virgin Media and TalkTalk TV.

To be honest it makes perfect sense from a business point of view.

Which we are still waiting for as they seem very slow to react to a very quick and changing market.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
Sky's core business is TV hence they invest a lot into it likewise VM's core business is Broadband so they prioritise their investment in this area.

Yep, very smart move by Sky.
You have to hand it to Sky; things like this and covering the move to streaming via Now TV, and drastically increasing catchup and on demand ---something VM used to wear the crown for, shows that they are on top of their game.

Let's hope the next super duper TIVO is packed with nice sparkling new decent channels and streaming services.
Seriously, they have some ground to make up if they want to be taken seriously on the TV side of their business.

The channel line up will be the same.
Which worthwhile streaming services in particular are you thinking of?
I assume you would like Prime and Now TV (not much chance of the second one) but what other decent streaming services are available?

Yes, certainly those two! There are plenty of choices that VM can make. For example, just look at all the stuff available on Roku.

Re Virgin Media, there are two ways to view this either
1. They don't offer this to VM as Sky want this to stop customers leaving for VM, especially for those who are attracted to the VM XL pack offering BT Sport.
2. They want encourage take up of the complete Sky Sports package so they offer to it VM.
I think option 1 is far more likely but you never know.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
The cynic in me thinks Sky could use this to pass a larger than normal increase to non sports subscribers in June
