We went up to see her earlier today and she seemed in pretty good spirits but they did more scans and she has kidney failure but also they found two blood clots so they have put her on Warfarin for that and its unlikely she will be coming out yet nash.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Den has your Auntie got family around/near her that will be able to help her when she gets out of hospital? Also remember and get someone to contact the council/social work for any aids and services that your Aunt may require or need or even better speak to the hospital and see if they can arrange this when the time comes for your Auntie getting home.
I wish I had knew about the help that was available at the start of my late Mother's illness and to be honest I still struggle with the fact that my poor Mum could have many of the services and help that she so clearly needed from day one instead of struggling for so long, example we purchased a stair lift only to find out that the council would have provided this service for my Mother.
I suppose it's the same old same old if you know the system then it's easy. I'm still to this day at a loss as why these services are not more advertised to those that truly need it.
Take care den

Yes Auntie has plenty of family to help her Weenie when she gets out of hospital as her son is also her carer plus the other family members will rally round as well.
She has quite a few aids to help her at home as well weenie thankfully.

November, and already people are playing Christmas music, and have lights up outside their house. Ugh. Why can't it be like it was years ago, when Christmas wasn't even mentioned until December began?
And I just realised I sound like a grumpy old git......

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
To keep continuing to try and cause someone harm, sadness and interfere in there life via a 3rd party is just so totally wrong in my book, especially when that 3rd party is a complete idiot and couldn't see the truth or facts if they were slapped across the face with them.
In all honestly I do not know who to pity the most or even if they actually deserve my pity at all.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Not a good day yesterday had a bump in my car and what makes this worse is it was totally my fault although my eldest has given me lecture that I should never have admitted this.
First ever accident in 29 years of driving and I think I handled it quite well as the lady was naturally very annoyed that I ran into her hubby's Jaguar and kept saying he was going to be really angry with her. I just said look no one seems to be hurt, please go and check your children as I have checked mine then we can discuss matters in which we did.
I just feel like such an idiot and tbh I really did not get a good sleep last night and this morning I was very wary driving so I guess I'm a bit shook up with it all.
I have protected no claims so that is fine but I'm dreading how much this will bump up my insurance next year and could I go to another insurer if it's a massive amount.

Quite true: Normally when nobody admits then both insurers pay for the damage on a knock-for-knock basis. If somebody admits blame, or it is decided in court, then the blamee's (is that a word?) insurers have to pay for all the damage.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
There really was no point denying it heero as it was totally my fault. At the end of the day it was I who pulled out of a junction, and as far I'm aware she was not speeding.
The way I see it is I quickly defused a very unfortunate situation as I suspect by admitting fault she became more at ease as I suspect things could have escalated by the way she got out her car as her voice was slightly raised and I can understand that but at the end of the day it's only a car and no one was hurt and imo that was the most important thing, saying that one can only hope that she does not try and claim whip lash as this really would be silly on her part giving the speed that our cars collided.
On a plus side I can confirm that my auto braking works although naturally I would have much preferred not to have fond this out.
At the moment my insurance is arranging for my car to be booked into Mitchell Inglis in Glasgow in where they will come and pick my car up and deliver back once the repairs are complete, also my insurance has also arranged for me to have a car from Enterprise Car Rental.
I must say I'm really impressed with the whole process of my claim so far, as I have never claimed before and I really did not know what to expect.
@ Nash thank you

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
It can be really straight forward weenie. Glad to hear you are OK.
I know that you shouldn't admit liability but not doing so when there could be no other explanation is hard. Be very upfront with your insurers, and I am sure that they will not penalise you for just being honest. A guy drove straight into the back of us when we were stopped at traffic lights. He too admitted liability and we were surprised by how quickly the claim was resolved by his insurers, I guess because there no counter arguments to delay things. You Have no claims discount but if your insurance is a lot higher next year then stand by to gasp out loud when you see the results of quotes from other insures.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Does anyone know if my insurance will replace the plastic bumper as I'm being told by some family members that they won't replace it because it just has a few scrapes but what they will do more than likely is do a respray + fix/replace where needed therefore surely that means they will replace the black plastic bumper due to the deep scores that is now on it, plus it's plastic how would they go about fixing that without replacing it
Surely they will replace this as my car was immaculate before I decided to have a crash, what I thought would happen is any damage as a result of the accident would be repaired or is that not the case advice please as I don't want to keep phoning my insurance company as I do get quite nervous and I don't want to ask hubby as he is currently on the road driving.
To be honest with everyone, I'm really hoping that they will replace the bumper as it was damaged in the crash. I'm really down at the moment and kicking myself for not concentrating.
I just want my car back to what it was before the crash, here is photos that was taken just after my accident.
Any advice would be TRULY appreciated...
