well look i live in cardiff and cardiff citys homeground is close to me there moving across the road now to another stadium just acrros the road and there changing there name so basically a new stadium a new name

hi all went to anfield yesterday it was great just wanted to ask why are all the houses borded all round there and no one lives there no more i heard you would had thought it be a nice place but the only thing nice round there is anfield

Its undergoing massive regeneration and until the farcicle joke about the new ground is sorted out, I don't think much can be done. Anfield is a very inner city area, all the inner parts surrounding the city tend to be a bit more rundown as most big cities are - but the people are really nice, I've got many friends and relatives that live there (handy for match day! )

the people i spoke 2 were really nice i heard that the houses have been borded up for sometime there were streets all around borded up

Because some people have bought them and are being offered a pittance to move out of them by the local council. They are holding out for as much money as they can get before being forced to leave their homes so the area can be demolished and redeveloped.

Before the proposed new stadium the club started buying houses up on Lothair road and a couple of the other connecting streets with a view to demolishing them so that the main stand could be redeveloped (it's the only section of the ground left which doesn't have a cantilever roof), this must be knocking on 10 years ago or so now. The way things are going with Stanley Park I wouldn't be surprised if they just canned it and went down the main stand redevelopment route again.
