Regarding RTE Ireland if we get it on VM and from a purely personal point of view, I'd get to see some of the pro 12 games not available on S4C or BBC2 Wales.

Media Boy, is it realistic to expect Sky Sports F1 HD?

This is something they have been planning for many years, unfortunately it keeps getting delayed.

Which ones weren't widescreen? I think all the UKTV channels I watch are already widescreen, so I guess I don't watch them all?

It won't be the RTE channel as it appears in Ireland, it will be like BBC America, entirely seperate but showing mostly the same shows.

It clearly says in the document on "Satellite and Cable", so if it doesn't come to VM the only other cable network is Small World

It's difficult to predict what it could show as RTÉ only has Irish rights to show most of their content. UK rights for most of their content is generally held by one of the UK broadcasters. There shouldn't be a problem with showing home grown Irish productions but that wouldn't be enough content for a fulltime channel. At a guess they could easily obtain rights for programmes they show, which UK broadcasters don't want.. Shortland Street springs to mind.
UK rights are considerably more expensive than Irish rights because of the relative sizes of the countries, so it could be quite expensive for them to start purchasing UK rights. And this is probably why the project keeps being shelved as too expensive.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 4.
From what I read in the document, it is something they would like to do, not a definite.
I miss Tara TV because it had the GAA - Hurling is mental !
