Last thing we need is the possibility of another union breakup to manage
Bercow clearly believed that he had to give Blackford the choice at first, but on advice from the officials present, understood that he had the authority to defer the vote to the end of PMQs.
Blackford fancies himself as a procedural hack but he was out-played. He was granted his vote, but not immediately. I don’t think he anticipated that. I do think the mass walk out was primed however, to be triggered under any of several possible outcomes.
What a shame that so many Scottish voters had no representation at Parliament’s most important weekly event, all because of childish grandstanding by desperate Nats who are still trying, and failing, to whip up outrage over Westminster’s desire to retain control over food labelling post-Brexit.

Think it was also a bit of a distraction technique by the SNP away from this bad news

Scottish government criticised over Freedom of Information delays
A report by commissioner Daren Fitzhenry found "unjustifiable, significant delays" in some cases.
He also said journalists and political researchers faced an "additional layer of clearance" that should end.

The thing I find difficult to understand is why so many Scots keep voting for them. I find the Scots Nats the most irritating politicians in the country. And I'm not talking about their politics, either - there is nothing wrong with people putting their views to the people and standing for election on that basis, and then working hard to achieve those goals.
No, it is their arrogance and sense of entitlement that gets to me. I wouldn't mind so much, but they are not even governing Scotland very well either, are they?
