Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
Have got a V6 booked for an install in a few days, and have a quick question, do Virgin provide a high speed HDMI cable (for when the V6 needs it) or will I have to source one?

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
Is Wifi more reliable compared to using Powerlines?
Just trying to get the best internet connection for both V6 Boxes, but don't think i can run Ethernet cables from the hub to the two locations where our current boxes are awaiting swap.
Hub is in a different room to the two boxes.

Hi, Merry Christmas everyone. Does anyone have the V6 controlled by the harmony hub, I have been unable to get it to do anything but turn on and off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is set up as if it is still a Tivo? I have the hub and will be getting a V6 in a weeks time so will be needing more info. But if the original Tivo remote still works with the V6, then it should be the same set up for the V6.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
Hi peanut, yes I have it still set as the TiVo, but I'm only able to turn on/off. The V6 uses Bluetooth remote so it works in cupboard, TiVo needed line of site. So need to know model No. of V6 and hope harmony recognises it.

It certainly works with IR on the non hub harmony's. I'm using the Harmony Touch with the exact same settings that I had for TiVo.
I'm sure you will get it to work with the hub, but, providing it's line of sight you could use IR as a fall back option.

It's not Bluetooth, it's RF4CE aka ZiggBee.
Unfortunately I don't think the Harmony RF remotes support it.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I upgraded to VIP package last month from 100mb, Skysports and Weekend calls, can't remember exactly what old package was called. I also already had two Tivo boxes.
When I enquired this afternoon about replacing smaller 500gb Tivo box with V6 CS said it would be £49.95 but my bill would go up by just over £6 per month as well, even CS couldn't explain why.
I then mentioned that Virgin Media website the VIP package came with two V6 boxes, where do I stand when Virgin advertise a package but won't honour it with current customers?

Personally, I'd cancel. Leave it a few days or a week or so and reapply. Or you could try CS and hope you get someone remotely helpful who understand what the word SERVICE means in customer service. Wouldn't hold your breath...

Do you buy clothing, wear it, and return it if you find it cheaper or different? Nope you wont. You lost out, deal with it. Its life.

If the clothing company offered a 14 day satisfaction guarantee then I would return it

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
What's the current state of play with VIP package and V6 boxes. Have just seen it advertised as two V6 boxes on the website. Is it worth ringing and asking for 2 to be installed, any idea what cost should be?
