I forgot to add the speednet result to my earlier post:
Download speed at the time of the hump was around 85Mb/s.
I've been experiencing some buffering (on youtube for example), but otherwise I haven't really noticed anything untoward (I'm not a gamer).

Lucky you Kymmy.
It seems that the nightly hump has increased in duration. Qas said he's going to look into it. At least he might provide a plausible explanation so that we can baffle the poor Indian CS reps even further as they recite from their script

Looks like one of the inbound paths from croy-core-2a is buggered. Probably croy-core-1a -> croy-core-2a. It's a minor/small/localized issue

The earlier spike is load from downloading the new 12.10 ubuntu linux releases as DVD iso's
the tiny 9.30 spike is region wide again...
