Raising this variety (flexuosum) is very difficult from seed, hence the cloning. A few of my international mates are trying crosses this year, hoping to maintain the cold-tolerant genes. It survives Finnish winters outside, so people all over the world are trying to get hold of plants.
Meanwhile my overwintered chillies are coming back to life, and all my seeds have sprouted: Stuffing Scotch Bonnet, Pink Tiger, Pimenta Puma, Smokin' Ed Currie's Carolina Reaper, Chiltepin, King Naga, Giant Venezualan Rocoto and my mate's F3 Crinkly Peach Bhut.
I like my chillies too.
If you fancy joining a very happy international chilli growers group on Facebook, I'll ask if they will accept you (it's a closed group to keep the troublemakers and spammers out). From new growers to professionals.

Re: Allotments
Facebook... That would mean creating another account since I deleted mine about 4 years ago.. I think I'll pass..
Sorry the word cloning went over my head.. My MiL who's a retired professional gardener (ex Swiss Garden) will be laughing at me.

So are there some spare plots going then?
Planted some raspberry canes mid-winter - a few weeks later the whole place was flooded. Amazingly they are showing signs of life so there is hope...
Dug it all over last week and now have a bad back

Only for the brave or foolhardy, who'd have thought that kinda thing happens down the old allotments, throw in a bit of sex among the rhubarb and you'd have a very bad soap on your hands.

Re: Allotments
I only went out for a smoke, but ended up lifting 4 rows of spuds (it appears slugs like Maris Pipers but not Charlottes), transplanted nearly 200 red shallots, trimmed the jasmine and clematis, ditto the standard Kiwi that was getting out of control (I can now see the Naked Kiwi). Then I cut back the Ivy that is invading from next door, pruned the Blueberries, and cut a climbing rose right back as I want to see the flowers and not have them 12ft off the ground again.

Re: Allotments
I find that if I keep relatively active all year round I don't get bad muscular pains. But boy, do my hands feel stiff..... I might have to strap myself to the pint.

Re: Allotments
Overrun with strawberries at the moment, think I'm beginning to hate them... Can't freeze them and making jam seems a waste of fresh fruit. Pumpkins are just starting to set on nicely too, the combination of warm wet weather is working out very well. Could do with a couple of weeks of sun now.

Re: Allotments
Given what I'm reaping from our garden, I'm thinking of diversifying into slug and snail cultivation...

Snails are really bad here, my rhubarb and kiwi look like they are made of lace.

Re: Allotments
Yep, we have an infestation of shiny metallic looking beetles which have done similar to our rosemary bush. Grrrrr....
