Do any of these need to be on or off? This is how I have it in superhub currently, only the ones with ON next to them are ticked, the rest are not.

Firewall Features Enable
Ipsec PassThrough
Enable
PPTP PassThrough Enable ON
Multicast
Enable ON
Port Scan Detection Enable

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

UPDATE> I took out ALL port forwarding rules from my superhub so that NONE exist. I then turned the main PC off overnight and again got 100% packet loss till I turned it back on in the morning, despite the superhub being on the whole time.

If the main PC is off in my house the think broadband monitor is not able to ping my superhub. Why is this happening? I have not set anything up on superhub to forward packets to this PC. Is it possible the superhub needs a reboot as it has some oddity cached somehow? It has been up for 48 days now on R30.

EDIT: Also just to add, I just set two constant running pings from my work place on two different internet lines and they both have kept pinging my public IP throughout me turning off my main PC at home. So the superhub responds to ping from WAN all the time, yet the TBB quality monitor states 100% packet loss?

Do you have a DMZ machine configured? If not try a reboot of the SHub - it's a crazy piece of kit.

No DMZ machine configured. I think it's time it had a reboot. Will have a play tonight.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

I fixed my issues with the 100% packet loss when my main PC was off. Simply rebooted the shub. Stupid piece of **** must have been caching the old port forward rules under "both" protocol somehow. Wierd.

Looks like this now. Any good for 50mb? Slightly concerned it doesn't look that flat and "unbusy" as others during last night despite nothing be connected on it my end.

Does it make a difference if you run the shub in modem only mode? As I'm NOT doing that. To be totally honest, I find my connection generally pretty good and have no reason to complain about it at the moment. I am getting 100mb tomorrow I believe (new contract), so it might be interesting to see how it changes, if at all.

It looks like people are receiving R36 upgrades. I'm also due an upgrade to 100mb. Is there anything else I should make a note of and/or test before I get my upgrade so I can compare before/after stuff?

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

Well modem mode used to be better. i don't know about now.

Since R36, i find router mode to be better, but at the moment neither are particularly what id consider good

Found this quite bizarre - I guess they haven't updated the DNS for that step 6 IP since the NTL days

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

So I've switched over my old Dlink router (provided by VM) to a new TP-Link one which I flashed with DD-WRT firmware.

However Ping Monitor is still having issues with it (full red block). The only help online I've found said to turn off "Block Anonymous WAN Requests (ping)", which I have, but still no dice.

Anyone successfully using a DD-WRT flashed router with Ping Monitor?
