My sister brought us one of those food vacuum sealer things that uses those kind of bags with a hole with a seal where you suck the air out. Great when they work first time but half the time you have to re-open and close because its not working and you can't find out where the gap in the seal is. Fiddly!
Don't want to be 'that linux guy' but I really do hate Windows, especially Windows 10. I needed to have it installed on one of my laptops because what I was doing wasn't feasible in a virtual machine.
First month running on the laptop, no issues. Then it had issues doing some updates and spent half a day doing stuff and rebooting. The last month I keep getting blue screens, mostly Cache Manager and sometimes an 'Internal power' or something issue. The cache manager has started to happen daily now.
If I boot a live linux ISO on the machine and use that for a few days, no issues at all.
So im blaming Windows 10 rather than RAM on its way out or something.

Bought a pack of microwave rice from Aldi. Tore corner and cooked but on opening fully, rice shouldn't be green and smell like that, I think the packet seal was compromised. Fortunately I spotted before I tipped into the curry and only cost 35p.

After my dads surgery for a perforated Ulcer, he was on a ventilator in ICU (He had covid before he went in.) So my sister and I had to done full body PPE and wear an air filtration mask, and saw him everyday.
We didn't stay too long as he was in an induced coma.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8
Ordered 3 items from Amazon. I cancelled prime a while back but order was over £20 so qualified for free delivery.
Get a delivery of one package with one item in it but a status update and email saying that all 3 items are delivered. It says another item should have been in the package with the item I got and the last item in a second package.
This came via my postman (instead of an amazon driver) who arrives early and always hands the parcel to you after ringing your doorbell and is the best posty ever so won't be to blame. He scanned/photo'ed the one package so at least shows only one package was there.
Amazon refunded me the amount for the two missing items but when I went to re-order, it was going to cost more than it cost to buy the 3 items before because of an additional £7.99 charge for being under £20. One item less but costing more!
Complained that I shouldn't have to pay delivery because of their mistake and explained the whole lot but I think it was foreign chat support who didn't understand and the result was they refunded me for the item I did receive too.
In the end I re-ordered the 2 missing items and a cheap NFC signal card blocker to get it over £20 so I paid £21 instead of £27.
So stupid and time consuming and now I have to try and be around for another delivery because one of the items they won't deliver to a local shop or amazon locker like I usually do for deliveries.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8
When you find out things you really wish you hadn't about someone.
For the best part of almost a decade, I was involved in a massive struggle to see my son - those who know, know.
It was a pretty acrimonious set-up, not helped by the fact I live around 170 miles from him.
Court had been involved which I never have wanted but my hand was forced as I was left with no other option.
Thankfully these days I get to see my boy regularly and I'm proud to say he absolutely loves his Dad.
The relationship between his parents has over the past 4 years or so had plenty of ups and downs but overwhelmingly more 'downs'. I was once besotted with her but I've long since moved on and so has she - all the power to her.
There have been a few court appearances this year but over the past 6 month or so things have been fairly cordial between us which I'm proud of. I'll be completely honest here, whereas she's acted in some very underhanded ways, I've also behaved in ways I'm certainly not proud of but I own it and pledge to do better.
So with all that being said, over the past few weeks, I get to find out things she's said and done about me over the years, even stretching back to when we were together. What happens is when she has an argument with some of her friends and cuts them off, they invariably get in touch with me and say "you really ought to know what she's been saying about you etc".
Generally these revelations just bounce off me as she's the past to me. She can live her life however she wants and absolutely why wouldn't she?
But when it involved things she told the kids (she has 2 daughters from a previous relationship who during our time together saw me as their 'dad'), especially my son I tend to lose my brown-stuff.
I really do appreciate how she seems to be trying really hard to be cordial with me regarding things about our son and of course it's my responsibility to be reciprocal but when stuff gets back to me (and it's genuine things that could only have come from her) it's getting harder and harder to grit my teeth and say nothing.
Rant over.
