With broadcast channels, you have so many disadvantages.
1. You can only watch what is scheduled.
2. The programme you want to see can only be seen at the times the schedulers say you can.
3. On most of the channels, you are subject to countless commercial breaks, which extend the length of programmes by about 15 minutes per hour.
4. Programmes are easily missed because they are hidden amongst zillions of channels.
5. The only way to avoid some of these problems is to record, but you have to find the programmes first, and then you constantly worry about filling up your hard drive.
Whereas with streaming, all the programmes are available by selection, they are more easily identified from the user friendly UI, you don't need to record or be bothered by commercial breaks. What is more, you can watch your programmes when you like and binge watch on whole series at a time if you want to. Additionally, streaming services are far better value for money and have more choice available.

Why bother arguing with him mate let him keep his head buried in the sand, he seems to like to respond to people who disagree with him yet says nothing if someone agrees with him.
You can't treat a old dog new tricks.
Disclaimer: i am in no way calling Den a dog lol.

Many people are fine with that unless you have not realised that as the world does not revolve around your households TV habits.

Many prefer them as a possible add on service which supplements their main Linear TV viewing.

Streaming is a option l grant you for some but a better alternative for the many , no l don't think so as they prefer to watch Linear TV where many of their favourites are and where all the big sporting events and other important events are..

OK back on topic..Whatever that might be. Sometimes I'm not completely sure that this isn't a chat thread in disguise.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
VM to offer a 3 month free trial of a streaming service early next year in line with a new service arriving on the v6.
We have no idea what it is but we think it starts with A and shares the same name as a very large rainforest.

The fact they are slower to load, they can’t be recorded, they only have a 2 day (if that) EPG and they have bugs (both on TiVo and V6) where the audio occasionally goes out of sync with the video!!

I see, thank you. I should have realised that, but I only tapped into this once, quite some time ago!

Well, if no-one is pulling our leg, that is very good news indeed.

If it is indeed Amazon, there appeared to be some sort of hitch the first time around. There were rumours that Liberty Global had prevented it from launching, but I have my doubts about that, because that flew in the face of what John Malone said before about content.
Possibly, the delay was related to the new Amazon channels (some of which are the same as available already on Virgin) or maybe there were technical issues. I hope that this time, the rumour is correct and that nothing will now get in the way of the launch.
