The VIP has not gone down in price but it's common knowledge that the 20 per cent discount is there for VIP
Well there will be 5 channels and you pay for the ones you want, but I believe the individual channel is expensive
Nobody knows that yet

He said "uhd on all pay platforms except talktalk" so looking good for VM. Can't be on Plusnet or TalkTalk as their STBs don't deliver UHD.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
What we need is for these rumours to be officially announced.
Or as usual will they be launched first and then announced afterwards?

They won't announce anything until all the contractual issues are signed. Annoying, but that's how it is.

Nat Geo UHD on all platforms personally I'd be amazed if that happens.

There is a Nat Geo 4K in India.
If India can get a 4K channel, VM must be able to lol

Being that Fox own 75% of Nat Geo (UK channels) can you seriously see Mr Murdoch making a UHD channel available to all competing platforms ?

That's right, but the big question is whether we can get a deal with Sky and BT. There are other options VM can look at to provide us with more UHD material, but of course the hold those two companies have over film and sports rights mean that what we may secure in terms of UHD programming may not be exactly what we expected without such a deal.
My hope, given the reluctance (particularly by Sky, but understandably emulated by BT so they can compete) is that Netflix or Discovery enter into the bidding process for Premier League football and either Netflix or Amazon wrest the contracts with the film studios away from Sky. What that will do to prices, I don't know, but at the very least, Sky, Virgin and BT viewers would have the same access, and all in UHD.
I am afraid that all these contracts still have a few years to run, but hopefully we can ultimately look forward to fairer distribution arrangements in the UK as a result.

Given the price of sport, I would have thought that this would be a part of a different package if the sports rights went to Netflix. A huge part of the population (myself included) do not watch sport at all and would not wish to pay more because of it.

Whether you like Sport or not you ultimately end up paying for it one way or another through subscription increases even if you don't take the Sports channels.
