Ha ha!
It certainly does seem old fashioned these days to watch stuff via DVDs! It's streaming all the way for me now! I haven't watched any DVDs at all this past year.

We are getting that way in our house too. Just buying the odd box set to match the others we already have. We were finding we only watched films once. They took up too much room so got rid of a load. Streaming/Renting films via Netflix, Amazon or Virgin Store is so much more efficient and also less costly. I'd rather pay a couple of quid to stream a movie than £15 to buy one to only watch it once.
I don't know if the majority of people are also doing this, but if they are, it seems a strange time to announce the buy & keep store.

With the new deal MB, do you know if V6 customers will be able to access UHD versions of movies?

Hopefully this does mean a new deal is in place/being discussed. If so I wonder whether VM would try and secure UHD versions too? Would be great for V6 customers who subscribe to Sky Cinema.

Sky's UHD content currently wouldn't require a channel on the EPG.

There are quite a few UHD movies available on Sky Q, Den...the library is growing every week too. Would be great if VM could secure an on-demand deal for the V6. Tired of my brother-in-law rubbing it in about watching UHD movies lol

Streaming is certainly the way nowadays but yes there is a but if a streaming company that you've bought a movie on goes bust then you've lost that movie and will have to buy it again, also some only license you the show/movie for a set period Wuaki is one you only have the movie/show for 3 years.
With dvd/blu ray you know it's yours forever.
What baffles me is why SKY still do not offer blu ray on the sky store let's be honest the prices they charge for new releases £13.99 you can get much cheaper from places like Amazon, hmv on blu ray which most include a digital copy to to use on ultraviolet which many companies support.
My theory is VM will break that mould and will offer blu ray as well as dvd, maybe they'll use someone like HMV.

Well, if there is a new deal with Sky, let's hope it goes beyond channel number changes!! I really could not care less about them but I do know that some are fascinated by the numbers.
However, what would interest me would be if we had a deal on getting full access to UHD channels.
...And Sky Atlantic...
Edit:
By 'channels' of course, I am referring to 'on demand' channels, before someone picks me up on that!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)
I see they are leaving 402 free - the last time a rejig of sky channels left a gap, was for the launch of Sky Sports Mix.
Sky currently have some spare satellite capacity following the closure of Sky Box Office - I wonder if they plan to use some of this to launch Premiere +1 HD, which would then take up the 402 slot on Virgin...?
