So when they felt a lapse in feeling powerful they abused. Did that sense of power carry them through life? Yes. Did that then carry into his career? Yes. Did they effectively **** on people? Yes. Why shouldn't the victims claim? Because his poor family will suffer?
I didn't say the victims shouldn't claim (although I don't honestly think getting money, not matter how much, will reduce their suffering). I was merely making the point that they aren't the only victims of these crimes. Should the family be made to suffer because of what the abuser did?

As for suing the companies, I have no problem with that.

Justice will make them feel good. His crimes coming to light, him rightly being convicted of the crimes and some form of compensation. The family can make their own claim(s).

That paragraph is so convoluted as to be meaningless.Who will feel good? The victims or his family?

http://news.sky.com/story/1295878/mp...r-abuse-claims

This item will probably come under the same operation. When l got abused, yes, l was young, but it always went unoticed, I got abused for five years. Did l know what was happening. No, as my parents thought it was an everyday thing.

When l went into employment, l worked for a company and l was always tasked to work at hotels and offices around parliament.

You were told by security that they would have to be escorted to your van. As at the time of say 1.30am You would see things that would make your hair curl.

IF this document has been mislaid, its because they dont want it revealed, as it would cause uproar in certain circles.

Nowadays, people are coming out of the woodwork, simply for the compo.

People should try and watch 'Johnny go home'. Would l like to bring up the past - No. I cannot change the past, l have revealed certain parts to my wife, and she alone is the only person who knows.

You do realise that it is likely that unless the family do pay compensation, we will all (as either or licence payers) be paying? All of the organisations under the spotlight are publicly funded.

may be because

It is not yet clear whether any of Harris's abuse took place on the premises of the BBC or ITV when he was working there

By making more victims? The families involved are, as far as we know, innocent of everything apart from being related to a child abuser. Why should they suffer?

Rolf Harris is responsible for that. His actions have consequences. Deal with it!

We seem to have reached the broken record stage in this thread..Neither side is going to change the other's mind so I reckon it's time to agree to disagree.

Good afternoon to you all.

In which case shouldn't the abuser have shown more concern for his families financial well being, he did the crime and if the court decides financial compensation will ease the victims suffering so be it.

I have already said that the victims should have compensation. I was just making the point that there are more victims than people are counting.
