No Weir in SGA... agh, so what are they going to do about the whole "Weir in charge of an Aurora class Replicator ship" thing, seen midway through season 4.

Yes, Ive watched all eight of the mini eps, and they were quite good. I'll be tuning in for the series.
No idea what they'll do about the replicator ship.

Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other Snippets
Hmm, I'll give it a watch, then.
Hopefully SGA will deal with the Weir plot somehow, rather than leaving it unresolved.

They seem to have set her up with a classic 'returning guest star' role. I don't think we've seen the last of her.

Having seen the whole series, I tried so hard to like it but it just wasn't that great really.

Well, that's they thing. It looks like we have
They *had* said she'd be returning in season 5.... for an important on-going arc, carrying on things from halfway through season 4 when she made that last & brief surprise appearance.
However the actress, Torri Higginson, then turned down the chance to return to SGA, & is now not going to be in season 5.
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/0...son_five.shtml
Maybe they'll manage to get her for season 6, who knows.
But from reading that story, it sounds like she may not have been too happy about her drastically reduced role in season 4 (after having previously signed a 6 year deal & relocated to Vancouver at the start, had 3 years as a main cast member, only to then be relegated to "recurring" with only 4 episodes in a whole season).

It starts off average for the first half of the season, the last six or seven episodes are much better (there are 21 episodes).
