Re: Car free Bank junction praised by cyclists... but drivers brazenly flout ban
Idiots come on 4 wheels as well as 2. As the biking variety in particular have equipped themselves with cams in order to highlight everyone else's misdeeds on the roads, it should come as no surprise that we're going to see more of their own evidence used against them. The same will of course happen to car drivers as dashcams become more prevalent.

Both vehicles at fault here. Van has no 'authority' to offer car safe passage by flashing lights; car driver presumes safe to turn right and proceeds without due care and attention. Cyclist has injured back, leg, head, both wrists, pelvis and big toe: a nice insurance payout and all on cam. Nice

Treat himself and the kids to fancy new bikes more like. The more cyclists the merrier and taking a lead from President Trump we're gonna have more bikes and we're gonna make car drivers pay for them.

What goes around eventually comes around and an uninsured cyclist who can't gets seriously injured but can't claim from someone else (including another cyclist) is in for a very bad time indeed. Then of course there'll be those whose stupidity sadly gets them killed.

The Highway Code is clear that you use flashes of headlights as an alternative to sounding your horn (when illegal - at night, or noise or other factor makes it a better option). Essentially the only "official" meaning of flashing your lights is "I am here".

Yep, a rule motorists misunderstand and abuse every day effectively encouraging each other to drive badly whilst blaming others for their incompetence

I watch cyclists in Glasgow, they go through red lights, curve in and out of traffic and jump from the road to the pavement and back, , they are a menace. Sorry but I would ban them all and I am not a driver but a passenger and they frighten me
