Re: BT Sport when champions league arrives
The deal was for three years, so we should get a year free for the champ league but after that who knows. We may pay or virgin may get us a good deal again.

you did hear right
BT to charge for Champions League after £900m deal
Broadcaster will end free-access policy as Sky and ITV accuse rival of overpaying for TV rights

Could BT launch a champ league channel and charge for on virgin, to get around the xl deal we have now?

Any further increases will only drive ppl away, as for me, they can ram it right up their chocolate starfish if they want more cash for the footie.

Re: BT Sport when champions league arrives
I can only hope that there is a charged add on package.
Indeed any existing sports channel that incurs additional charges shouldn't be given away for free as one way or another we the customer are paying. If it wasn't for the BT sports, how much cheaper would BT's broadband and or phone line rental be, and in turn that lower price would influence competition with the other providers including Virgin Media. Why should those who don't want these exorbitant sports have to subsidise those that do and thus indirectly contribute to the overpaid inflated football clubs?

Re: BT Sport when champions league arrives
But then you could argue the same IF Atlantic ever comes to VM. Would those who don't want the channel be happy to pay extra for the channel? I wouldn't.
