FA Chairman resigns after remark deemed to be racist.
For years 'coloured' was used as an alternative to much more offensive words, in fact one of the modern phrases is 'people of colour'.
A retired black acquaintance of mine routinely describes himself as coloured and did so when he received his MBE.

The World has gone mad, and getting madder.
No matter what words you use, for anything, some people just won't be happy.

That's the whole idea. It's intended as a form of power and control.

My personal highlight was when he said all the boys in IT are South East Asian.

Did he say all?

He also said there were "a lot more South Asians than there are Afro-Caribbeans" in the FA's IT department because "they have different career interests".

So nothing to do with the different levels of academic achievements then?
The only group achieving less academically than Afro-Caribbeans is Gypsy/Travellers.
Black African students perform better, so it can't be a race thing by the teachers. Black African 6.1%, Black Caribbean 3.4%.
Students getting 3 A grades or better at A level
Quote:
The data shows that:
- 13.0% of students got 3 A grades or better at A level (including students whose ethnicity wasn’t known)
- 25.7% of students from the Chinese ethnic group got 3 A grades or better – the highest percentage out of all ethnic groups
- students from the Indian ethnic group (15.5%) were the next most likely to get at least 3 A grades
- 5.5% of students from the Black ethnic group got 3 A grades or better – the lowest percentage out of the 6 aggregated ethnic groups
- students from the White Gypsy and Roma, and Traveller of Irish Heritage ethnic groups were least likely to get at least 3 A grades, with no students from either group doing so

I was generalising. Ironically so was he.

Or was he telling the truth?
If one group studies a particular subject and is more successful at it, than another group, then that first group is more likely to get jobs in that area. Common sense really, or isn't that allowed nowadays.

Nope no common sense anymore, just finger pointing, cries of outrage, and the occasional riot protest involving lots of swear words and media frenzy.
That's a white Christmas out of the window, and no more black friday sales then eh

He's probably too professional and sophisticated to do that though.

Guess what the "C" stands for in the NAACP based in the US?
He couldn't use the term "Black" because that would be incomplete, and if he had used the term "non-white" there would've been racist whinging about that.

That's because it was formed in 1909 when that term was in wide use, and I don't recall the full term ever being used recently.
There are plenty of other organisations that have changed their name because it was no longer appropriate.
Scope for instance.

Another example of demanding change merely to control people.
NAACP is still very much in active use.
If he had stayed, he would've been sent off to a "re-education camp".
Re-education camps are now going to be an even bigger industry in the US than they are now.

Quote:
The City of Seattle held a racially segregated employee training session aimed at White staffers and instructing them on “undoing your own whiteness” in order to be held accountable by people of color, according to documents obtained by a public records request.
...
In order to be considered “accomplices,” White employees must give up “comfort,” “guaranteed physical safety,” “expectations or presumptions of emotional safety,” “control over other people and over the land,” and “relationships with some other white people.”
White employees were also urged to give up “niceties from neighbors and colleagues,” “the certainty of your job,” and “accepting jobs and promotions when we are not qualified, including racial equity jobs.”
|
Want to give up your physical and emotional safety?
Plenty of similar things going on here in the UK.
If you're not "woke", you're considered "dead".
