Regarding connection of the printer. There are a number of ways of doing it. You can get a separate, standalone print server adaptor for the printer - versions come with USB or parallel connections, and they can be ethernet (for wired connection to the router) or wireless.
You can however be more sophisticated and get a combined wireless router with printer port. I can't find one by Linksys, but D-link do something like this
