Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
Thanks to the free HD Saturday, and my Tivo automatically recording stuff on the Sky Sports HD channels that I don't subscribe to, I now find I am unable to watch the Australia-New Zealand rugby and some other ITM games because I "no longer subscribe to these channels".
Thanks a lot Virgin and Tivo. ********* ridiculous.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
I believe that has been the case for some time with Sky channels (instigated by Sky). Hard way to find out about it though.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
Any recording for channels you don't subscribe to will not play. It's been that way for a while.
Don't see this as being a problem. Especially not a big enough one to get angry.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
Isn't this only the case with the Sky premium channels on VM though, as opposed to all channels on the Sky platform (unless it's changed)

It only applies to Sky channels.

It's all Sky channels on VM, not just the premiums.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
I get the point but its not really something to complain about?? You got the channels for free for one day. You don't subscribe to them. You wanted to record something you got for free and then watch later for free after the offer had ended??
Its not really something to complain about is it unless i'm reading this all wrong haha!?

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
I wouldn't worry the rugby was rubbish anyway, seen better in the school playing fields....
Also the PQ on SS2HD was poor on Saturday when i was watching the Test Match. I kept getting picture break up, no problem on other channels. It was a warning not to subscribe to Sky sports rather than to subscribe. I'll stick to SkyGo in future which works well hooked up to the TV via HDMI.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
I'm angry because my Tivo is set up to record in SD because I don't subscribe to the HD Sky Sports channels.
Tivo took it upon itself to record it in HD instead. Not being able to watch something retrospectively that I would have been able to watch if I'd been here is preposterous.
Also, why does the board censor [Mod Edit]?? It's not a swear word.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
Series links and planned one off recordings on TiVo won't change channel like that, so how were they set up?

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
A wishlist would pick the HD channel if available - which it was on Saturday only

And if it was recorded legitimately on the Saturday, it should be available to watch retrospectively.
If I'd have known it wouldn't be available after Saturday, and that Tivo would record it in HD, I would have set up a specific recording for SD.
Ridiculous.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
Not that it affected me but it should be available to watch if recorded during a Freeview it certainly is on Sky, I believe they use the basic channels encryption during a Freeview and then Hard encryption when it returns to normal, this means they still viewable afterwards but only those recorded on the Freeview day.

Re: Gee. Thanks a lot Virgin.
If it is a Sky channel and you are no longer subscribed then you can't watch the recording on VM. Its imposed by Sky.

"No longer subscribed"??? I was never subscribed!!!!
It should not be beyond the capability of the Tivo software to not override my recording preferences. It should have recorded in SD. I've got the "record only in HD" option set to No, what else could I have done???
