Trying To Connect 2 Pc's
We have two pc's that we want to share our 2meg ntl cable broadband connection. We have one cable modem, 1 ethernet wire, and 1 crossover cable. The main pc has 2 ethernet slots, the second pc has one ethernet slot. I have connected it all up but the net is only availabel on the 1st pc. Am i missing something? Do ntl allow you to do this? I've heard its possible to browse the net on both and have them connected like a lan without having to buy a hub or a router.

You need to enable internet connection sharing on the PC attached to the cable modem see here for details http://practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/

Re: Trying To Connect 2 Pc's
I have run the home networking wizard. It says lan connection 2 is the most likely one, so i picked that. Then i had to chose the other port that connects to the other pc. ICS is on on connection 2, as is file and printer sharing. Do i run the wizard on the second pc? When i did it said connecting via ics through device - unknown internet connection sharing? Im pretty sure its setup right on pc 1.

Re: Trying To Connect 2 Pc's
It should do yes, you may need to add exceptions at the firewall for ports required
