Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
Hi Guys
A few days back i had to update a few of my apps and now something is draining the battery so bad im having to charge the phone sometimes twice a day. Ive tried using an app called GSam but it states that the Android UI is to blame and is using over 60% battery.
Im wondering if anyone else can come up with any apps i can try to see what the cause maybe.
Thanks.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
Why don't you disable those which updated one by one and see if the problem stops?

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
When I had a update on my Note 4 (KitKat IIRC) my battery life went tits up.
But when I got lollipop it massively improved.
I have had it last nearly 2 days
Provider signal can effect battery life.

This generally happens to a lot of Android phones in my experience anywhere between 6 months and a year of use. Similar claims that AndroidUI is using 60%+
Rooting and flashing a custom ROM generally made it worse, replacing the battery had little to no effect. but a battery calibration did after removing the file and resetting then running a calibration app. It didn't completely stop the awful drain.
Devices this occurred on: Galaxy S3, a few HTC old devices I can't remember the model.
Your issue doesn't seem to be quite as severe though. I was looking at loss off about 50-60% after about 40 minutes. Using different chargers sometimes worked though and I could actually hold a charge sometimes. I never did find a proper solution.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
iirc it's merely a batterystats.bin reset when a phone is clearly displaying an incorrect battery percentage which happens a lot with flashed phones. That's all I did anyway to get a proper percentage. It still never fully resolved the ridiculous drain I was getting.
It was hit and miss with my S3, different chargers strangely enough provided different results.
It drained quickly regardless of battery too, from the stock battery and this one from Anker

I had periods of time where my phone would barely even charge, then I had periods when it was done in an hour or so. I know Facebook used to be hidden under Android UI though if it still is or not I'm unsure of and was a pain in the arse.
Juice Defender is what I used to use just to get mine to charge, might be of some help. Sorry I can't really be of much further help as I never actually fixed my problem but luckily as I said above, yours seems a lot less severe.

Go into settings, then power/battery and it will tell you what is using the most power. If it's an app, remove it/roll it back/reinstall it and see if that helps.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
Says that its the Android O.S using the most battery.
My phone used to last me two days, it was taken off charge this morning around 10am and it now has 23% battery. Ive made 2 calls amounting to around 4 mins, sent 2 texts and my internet is turned off.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S5 Battery drain
Probably best backing up everything and doing a factory reset.
