Re: Youtube issues. Is this still a thing?
I sometimes get the odd buffering but I find this is sunday evenings and the net for me tends to be a little slower during the school holidays

Anyone else started having issues with youtube?
The video plays for about 5 secs and then it starts buffering for like 30 secs.

They are going to get rid of 30 second ads that can't be skipped.

its not the ads, this happens after the ads, the video plays for a few seconds and then stops and buffers and suddenly jumps along and is fine then.

There was an issue at one time with VM's CDNs. When you play the video what shows in the task bar? Is it Youtube or a VM CDN?

Re: Youtube issues. Is this still a thing?
not sure will have to check.
says waiting for s.youtube.com
Also just noticed while it stops it drops the res of the video to minimum. u then have to select max yourself again.

Do a quick nslookup on YouTube.com - You'll see that everything is diverted to Virgin IP addresses.
I've recently set my main DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8) and this has remedied my YouTube woes. Browsing has been somehwat breezier, also.
You can try this on a single PC to prove a point or set it on your router if you want all LAN devices to go through it.

Re: Youtube issues. Is this still a thing?
I've not witnessed this since I got my Asus, which would be explained by the above as when I set it up I set it to use Google's DNS rather than Virgin's.
