Brambling !
Get out there, lots of free fruit everywhere, seems to be a bumper year !
Don't attempt Blackberry wine though, its lethal, stick to fruit pie. Still got several bottles in the garage that I daren't try again. I'm hoping they mellow with age...

When we were clearing my mothers house years ago in Worthing we found some bottles of blackberry wine that had been in the loft a long time. Like fine port it was. Lovely. Definitey improves with age.

Would love to but they lag a few weeks behind here in the highlands. I made a bottle of blaeberry gin the other week, but I still have a wee while to wait for the brambles.

Agreed Chris, Blackberry Gin is Ace, just about to make two litres to use up last year's blackberries from the freezer to make room for this year's crop!

I grow my own Blackberries (Morton's Thornless). I had quite a good harvest earlier, massive 2" fruits, but the rest are really struggling this year. The wild ones around were all cut down by the council.
