Change of package (father in law)

My wife phoned VM on behalf of father in law who decided he wanted to try the internet.

They are so hard work god knows how the hell I am going to teach them the net (in their 70's)

So they already had a package never changed in years. XL TV, Unlimited calls and a V+HD box Paying about £65 a month

So wife asked could they have 50mb BB added to the package but they said there wasn't any deals going for that.

So they said what they could do is add 100mb BB and a tivo box to the package keeping their unlimited calls.

All self install coming friday and the total cost per month £80

Because I can't find build your own package on the VM site was wondering if this seems like a reasonable deal?

My wife asked if they had any package deals going and they said no so this is what we are stuck at.

Re: Change of package (father in law)

Go to virginmedia.com and select I am not a customer. It then gives all the possible packages. I have just looked and it gives 50mb on there. Of course there's always the risk that the website is out of date.

Re: Change of package (father in law)

Depending on what package you want, sometimes it can be cheaper to have 100mb BB instead of 50mb. I'm on Big Kahuna (XL TV, M phone and reduced BB to 100mb) with an extra box for £73, If I wanted 50mb BB it would have been over £100.

Re: Change of package (father in law)

do a proper audit of channels - look at recordings and what their favourites are, do they really see a difference on HD channels? do they need the channel package they have? they might be better with a lower tv package and therefore the broadband might slip them down to a lower bundle..
