Liberty Global proposes to donate up to $1m to remain in EU campaign

Putting its money where its mouth is as it fears the damage caused if the UK left the EU, both economically and politically.
"Liberty Global, which owns Virgin Media in the UK, plans to donate up to $1m to the campaign to keep Britain in Europe in one of the largest donations to come from the corporate sector..."Liberty Global shareholders have been asked to vote on a resolution to authorise political donations at the company annual general meeting,” the company said in a regulatory filing."

If we were out of the EU the double Irish and Dutch sandwich would close, corporations wouldn't be able to offshore so much money.
it's in their interests to remain.

I think that equates to about 20 pence per customer. Let's reduce your bill by 2 pence a month.

Business will always come before people. Imagine what goes on at other times so business can get its own way. Their interests or our interests?

"up to 2 pence" would be a closer estimate. Liberty Global have 27 million customers, and it's "up to $1m", not £1m.
