I got the M package a year and a half ago when I cancelled XL TV. I told them I wanted to cancel TV completely, return both of my Tivos and just keep XL BB and Phone. Then they said it would be cheaper if I kept one Tivo on the M package.

At one time, having a VM phone line, gave you a basic, Non recordable TV box, with basic channels as part of the deal (or an option of paying £5 p/m for a recordable one). That was a very long time ago and not sure if it is still the case.

I downgraded to M TV, 50 broadband and weekend phone calls. Still have TiVo. Pay around 34 pounds per month.

As long as your retain your Virgin landline, you can downgrade to TV M, which is a free add-on. You would also need to go through Retentions & not sales (150 option 4 then 5).

Just to be clear that although TV M itself doesn't have a monthly fee, TiVo does.

So TV M isn't free anymore, and hasn't been described as such for a while.

So, is there no option for a non recordable box, as was the case in the past? Do VM even issue non recordable boxes now? I'm kind of out of touch with what boxes VM use, apart from Tivo.

Re: Downgrading to M package not M+

I could still record with the Tivo on the basic M package with no fee, at least I was able to when I downgraded to it. (had to go back to M+ because the lady wanted the Christmas 24 channels )

The ony five pound fee I had on my bill was the non direct debit one :/
