Getting on the VM Database

Has anyone got any advice on getting onto the VM database of properties? We've just moved into a new-build home in the WV2 area of Wolverhampton. The developer has chosen to work with VM to ensure the appropriate cabling is installed into each property and the road. We have a green duct with the pull rope, a VM outside box mounted on the wall, and some coax to present inside the house. On the database, every house number is registered, (including properties not yet built), so I suspect there is simply an issue where the wrong entry was put in the database, or not entered at all.

So far, despite numerous calls, all we've had is 'computer sez no'.
Does anyone have any routes to get this resolved? At this rate, the "UKs most popular telecoms provider" are likely to beat VM to the punch.

Re: Getting on the VM Database

Are you saying that every house in the new development is on it except yours? That is strange if so!

Either way, the first line staff will usually just stick by their database. If computer says no then it is a no!

The best way to go forward would be to contact cablemystreet@virginmedia.co.uk (I think that is the address). They are the team that look into the viability of cabling an area and come out and do surveys. So if you explain to them the situation and tell them the ducts and cabling have been put in already they should be pretty quick to sort it all out for you, unless there is a reason why they can't connect you, in which case they should tell you why.

The Cablemystreet email address no longer works. You now need to register via Virgin's website, which is also throwing up similar problems as yours. The best way to persue this is to post to VM's community forum & the Staff team there will chase it up.

Re: Getting on the VM Database

Thanks for your help folks - I ended up using the cablemystreet email address and they've directed my query to the right folks. Looks like there is some queries needed from the developers, which is the same answer I've had from the other telco Fingers x'd they won't take too long.
