I too doubt whether race came into play in this case.

I think it was a question of bringing a charge that could be proved. With neither parent putting forward an explanation or being willing to give evidence that would have backed a murder charge I suspect that the CPS would have chosen a lesser charge over a charge of murder for which this man could have been found not guilty on the evidence held.

That wouldn't surprise me, sadly. It's hard to stomach people who've done such an awful thing being able to effectively sidestep justice in that manner.

then they realise that they're not gonna get your autograph. even if they beat it out of you

Oskar Pawlowicz, 30, and Dawid Tychon, 29, who admitted aggravated burglary, were sentenced to 13 years each

Yes the cases are different but there was clearly intent to do great, possibly, fatal harm to the vicitms in both cases, so how can gross and sustained abuse leading to the death of a totally helpless baby be treated so much more leniently?
