27 inch monitor
Hi all.
I am thinking about buying a 27" monitor and wondered if anyone can recommend one.
I would really like on with a glass screen, I have 24" Packard Bell which has a glass screen.
I looked in PC World this morning just to get a guide and looked at a the ACER S1 Series S271HLCBID Full HD 27" LED Monitor but one thing that put me off is that the stand was a bit weak and wobbly.
Thanks in advance.

Re: 27 inch monitor
1) What graphics card do you have / or are expecting to have
2) What do you use your monitor for?
3) What is your budget?
These determine the resolution of the screen, but maybe also the panel type. For example gamers will be more interested in response times and rates of refresh. Someone doing photo editing is more concerned about accuracy of colours. Resolution may be seen as a good thing, but being realistic at 27" sizes how many people will be able to see the 4k type levels. And if your graphics card isn't that potent, if you have fast moving images, perhaps from gaming, the card wouldn't keep up.

Re: 27 inch monitor
While that's true, the stated resolution on the monitor is the maximum resolution, there is no reason you have to always run at the maximum, it is also capable of running at almost any conceivable resolution below stated maximum.
Sure, there's few places where you truly see the benefit of 4K, but you lose nothing (other than money) by getting a 4K screen and running it at 1080p when you don't need 4K. Conversely, I often run games at 4K on my 1080p screen with output stage downscaling because even on a lower resolution display, the initial rendering at 4K still makes it look so much better, despite dropping the framerate from 60fps to 20fps.
