Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
Is anyone here using Firefox 33?
It uses a huge amount of system resources, i had two tabs open which were google and the about:memory command page and firefox was using 516,300KBish.
When i clicked the button minimize memory usage it dropped to around 406,000kb.
I don't have a huge amount of addons, infact i only use internet download manager, No Script and Adblock Plus.
I know my system has 16GB of ram and it should be ok, but i cant get over how much it uses compared to say Opera or Chrome.

Re: Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
As no one has come back to you I thought I would have a play.
I don't use FF33 as I am using FF34 and I wondered if it would pay you to go to this beta version.
I haven't the faintest idea what it all means but I have opened the about:memory you mentioned and also have Google on one tab and CF on another.
My Task manager is showing firefox is using around 288MB
Oh just realised I also have photobucket open as well.

Re: Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
Don't think that large memory usage is restricted to FF33. I've had a single tab in FF32 use more than 400M on a Google image search.

Re: Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
Just updated from 32.0.3 to 33.0, so I guess I'll see.

Re: Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
I have several tabs open, 270k in use.
However, I have nothing to compare this with, since I didnt log any previous versions.

Re: Firefox 33 Memory leakage again
Firefox 33, 34, 35, and for that matter, 32 and 31, are no different in memory usage. Just because they added a new "about:memory" page does not mean you should panic because you don't understand the numbers.
Chrome still uses far more than Firefox.
