My niece on Instagram can't. she keeps posting her efforts of her pouting but they look awful. she looks in a few as if she's looking 'hard' the corner of her mouth is curled.

and to top it off she says to her girl friends "thanks babe" "thanks chick" and calling each other beautiful far too often.

and herein lays the reason for today's increase in girls who suffer from the 'Princess Syndrome'. Pseudo and unwarranted gestures of beautification which fast become expected, then lead to serious self esteem issues when they are no longer received. The 'compliments' become expected and anyone who doesn't offer them are fast branded 'selfish', 'rude' or anything else that might make one feel emotionally blackmailed into offering such false offers of glorification and pedestal placing.

The duck face is not pretty and should be met only with a comment in the photos comments section of said photo, of 'BANG!!! Duck hunting season is open'. At which point, you sit back and await the backlash as stated in the first paragraph.

Very true. they're all competing against each other now. they ask am I pretty? would you date me? I need more likes and followers!

you tell them they're quite plain and ugly. and they just can't handle it.

reminds me of the piece about video games Charlie Brooker did with Jon Snow. Jon Snow said he was interested in games, Charlie Brooker said what about Twitter? Jon Snow said it wasn't a agame, Brooker said it is, it's a huge popularity contest, of who can get the most followers
