BAC payment but with incorrect sort code

Hi all

Expecting a BAC payment today but it would appear it was processed to correct account number to with an incorrect sort code....

Any idea what would happen and time scales

If the receiving bank holds an account with the same number as yours, then it will deposit the money there. If it doesn't, presumably it will bounce back. Have you alerted the person who sent the money, and have they alerted their bank?

Thanks for reply.... Checked the sort code shown and I don't think it's valid.... (on line sort code checker) so I hope it will be bounced back.

Will inform sender tomorrow

Wondered how long it will take
