Romanian card scam gang jailed

Florin Silaghi, Vasile Pop, Ovidiu Metac and Adriana Turc used spy cameras to scam card data from ATMs, downloaded the details and then copied them on to fake cards, the Old Bailey heard.
They compromised 953 bank accounts and took some £160,000, although they stole details from more than 60,000 accounts.
The Romanian nationals, who operated from Harrow in north-west London, were jailed for between 21 and 64 months.

I hope that, when they're freed, they decide to move in next door to Nick Clegg. With the money they've made they can probably afford it.

That only hit the headlines because it was somewhat interesting I guess. As of last year Romanians were responsible for the vast majority of ATM fraud in London, c.90%.
That number may have changed of course in the interim.

Romanian gangs involved in ATM fraud? I'm shocked, next they'll be saying they are involved in pick pocketing, industrial scale shoplifting and cable theft.
What's next? Accusing travelling folk of having a higher chance than others of being involved in defrauding people for building work?

I'm sure Cleggy would have a fit if he read such things - in his book it's tantamount to accusing all Romanians of being criminals.

About time we had an agreement with all other EU countries... that a crime committed in another members country, that the home country nationals should be jailed in their home country for the same length of time. Make the rules the same across the EU. Then we would not have pay for the buggers to be in jail here, and also that they be banned from traveling to any EU member country for life.

If a non UK national commits a crime within the UK then after doing their time i think they should be immediately deported back to their home nation and refused entry back to uk.
