When you say French you have to include all the Outre Mer countries (a bit like our Commonwealth) who are considered French for all intents and purposes with relation to the EU, including the right to live and work (or search for work) in any EU country (unlike our commonwealth cousins). I'm sure the reverse is not the case though.

The traditional French look by the way is someone drinking a small coffee, smoking, reading Voltaire and shrugging in response to any query, just in case anyone didn't know.

It's true for anyone that has British Citizenship. So the Channel Islands and presumably the Falklands count. The Commonwealth doesn't count because their not British.

Was attempting to say there is a lot of French speakers in London but not all will be from France but not sure which countries would be included in the statistics other than France. Would a French Canadian be included for example.

Nope, the Channel Islands are not part of the UK or the EU.
They do adopt some EU laws, but freedom of movement of persons and services is not afforded to their citizens as they would a resident of the UK
