I don't have a "CATV Grid Box" but next door do? Can I still get Virgin Media?
Hi,
I have ordered Virgin Media Broadband, TV and Phone. The install date is next Thursday. Over many recent years, I have been receiving adverts about Virgin Media and how the whole neighbourhood is connected. This is true as many people on my street are connected and connecting to Virgin Media.
In between other houses, there are two CATV Grids (one for each house) however in between my house, there is only one CATV Grid that is already connected to the next doors house.
When the install guys come next week, will they be able to connect me to Virgin Media?
Thanks

They normally install one in between houses so they can run two cables from the same hole

Thanks,
Is it just one cable that needs to go through the box bearing in mind, I have ordered Internet, Two TV boxes and phone.
Also, I have heard about a rope being used in Empty CATV boxes, if the current box is used, how will they install the new cable for my house.

They put a long rod down all the way to the pit/cab. Then tape cable to it and pull it back through

Yes, one cable. It's split when it gets to the house.

im sure they will pre pull another cable to yours.
as one cable split between 2 houses and each running 3 peices of equipment or more, the signal may be too low.
Depends what equipment next door have.

These are called Shared tees. majority of houses, mainly semi detached only have need for 1 tee between the houses.
it shouldnt be a problem. if all else fails, the job will be rescheduled with a contruction dig to get you a tee. but i wouldnt worry
