I can imagine.
In our case the estate is served by a private electricity company. Applying to the wider area's company ended up with a bill for a trench right to the substation.
The private company seem to be a bit pants. GTC.
In the case of fibre it's been a weird one. Getting one path to MSAN fine, however the redundant path has been a nightmare. Getting fibre pack to the MSAN this one connects to has taken a while, and actually cross-connecting them means a short trip through an unadopted road, so full-width reinstatement and being completely at the mercy of the developer.
Between GTC and Taylor Wimpey it's been a pain in the backside.
Think the only reason you guys actually pressed on with it is that take up of FTTC here is very high, take up of cable on the wider Middleton build has been good, and the nodal areas served by the problem MSANs are considerably more affluent than the rest of Middleton so more chance of higher value, higher margin bundles being sold.
Full kudos due, though, in Lightning while the average build cost you're working towards is about 670GBP / premises passed you guys don't mind spending way more per premises on some if you can spend less on others. We owe wider Middleton gratitude for being largely nice terraces and semis.
