Re: UKIP/Farage [merged threads]
These last few months has seen Farage play the stereotype of what people think of him and UKIP. If they could get a leader who could speak some common sense without relentlessly insulting people all the time, and change their image a bit then I MIGHT consider voting for them next Election.
I mean realistically, all I want in a party is one who will scrap the Human Rights Act, take us out of Europe and bring in an Australian style points system to immigration. Any party that can do that I'd be happy to vote for.

Leaving Europe isn't as easy as the kippers would have us believe and if we 'want to be like Norway' it's worth considering that they pay 80% of what full members would pay, have to accept all the conditions of membership including free movement of people and have absolutely no say or influence on policy, we haven't got much say now see how we get on with none! Based on that no one wants to be like Norway especially the Norwegians. What's needed is an independent broadcaster to just tell us the truth no scaremongering no bs is that really to much to ask?

To be fair that is something Brian May asked for on QT this week; it won't happen though - there are too many vested interests at stake.

A UKIP MEP who launched a personal attack on Nigel Farage in the aftermath of the election has stood down from his frontbench role in the party.
Patrick O'Flynn has stepped down as economics spokesman and apologised to Mr Farage for calling him "snarling, thin-skinned and aggressive".

Pity. Farage was downright toxic at times during the campaign. He will pretty much ensure the referendum goes against his party if he carries on spitting poison to work his base.
Carswell, Hannan, et al all make a far more coherent case and are the people who should be leading the 'out' referendum campaign. Farage desperately needs the Sarah Palin treatment now.
