Internet connection
Just wondering how your new TiVo V6 box is connected to the internet? In my case with the new Superhub 3 I have had a world of trouble with my home plugs since the instillation, so now resorting to connecting it by WiFi now!

I don't understand why you are having trouble with your home plugs. Maybe one of our more technically minded gurus can help with that. Did you set it up yourself or did Virgin carry out the installation? |

Re: Internet connection
I have a hub 3 but haven't noticed any issues yet.

Re: Internet connection
Homeplugs are susceptible to interference and clashing with each other, and performance can be affected by how the mains cabling in your house is wired.
Your poll is flawed by the way, as many people will have more than one V6, connected by different means. |

Re: Internet connection
Have 2 v6 boxes, 1 is next to the hub and is connected via Ethernet cable the other is upstairs and connected via wifi.
Shame the poll doesn't allow a vote that reflects this. |

Re: Internet connection
Connected by wifi, no problems using hub2.

Re: Internet connection
I put down that mine is connected to the superhub as you didn't provide a category for other router (ASUS)

Would be interesting to know how many people are getting away with using 2.4Ghz as opposed to 5Ghz. I have a stronger signal on 2.4 but streaming HD was causing issues. |
Re: Internet connection
I use 2.4, 5 was utter crap!

Re: Internet connection
Only recently upgraded to the V6, running very nicely with a wireless connection to my SH2
|
Re: Internet connection
Both connected by cable but via a 16 port switch, that in turn connects to the SH3

Re: Internet connection
My V6 is Ethernet connected to my new Netgear R7000 router which is Ethernet connected to my Superhub 3 operating in Modem Mode. (Purple light)
Following an issue preventing me streaming recordings from my old Tivo box to my V6 box, someone at Virgin telephone support decided to increase the power of my Wireless signal. Even though I explained that it was unnecessary. It now appears that I have a wireless signal broadcast from my Superhub in Modem mode !! Could anyone explain what possible value this would have? |
