Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
i get my max speed 99% of the time. The only time it is really pants (drops down to 5-10mbits) is Friday and Saturday evenings from about 1700-2000 but it doesnt bother me too much because I pressume that is VM's super peak time of the week so I just have tea and a shower and stuff and come back later. To cut a long story short, no I wouldn't worry.

Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
Well it is Midday on a Sunday, speeds are erratic. From blueyonder gamefiles I was ranging from 1.1 to 3.8, to 2.5 and max i got was 4.0 in short bursts. :erm:

Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
Are you wireless or wired? Have you tried it direct to the modem? People are going to think Im getting obsessed with codewords but are your uncorrectable codewords really that high? You might want to post your event log, deleting out the CM MAc address for example, noting the "x"'s
Sun May 9 03:35:13 2010 Sun May 9 10:36:42 2010 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=xxxxxxxxx;CMTS-MAC=xxxxxxx;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; On a side note I thought there was more to dlinks firmware than VM's or I might have read it wrong somewhere |

Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
please edit out your mac address :D Im hoping someone with more knowledge will reply to you with the extra info, but if its anything like I was told then the uncorrectables will cause you problems. Hard reading through that but you might have had one or two T4's, did you have to reboot the modem to get a connection at any point?

Same situation as last night, a power cycle brings my speeds up again, but only for so long. |
Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
It looks like you have a problem to me but as I said Im hoping someone who knows what they are on about joins in :p: Even if its a pain, just for today it might be worth you connecting straight into the modem and seeing how it is

Re: Just got 50mb Broadband - Signal levels ok?
I just rang customer service, they told me I should not reboot the modem more than twice in a day?:erm: The lady there hit my box with a signal refresh and told me to wait 25 minutes?
Speeds are ok again, but don't hold out much hope? What does this signal refresh do that they have done? ---------- Post added at 14:30 ---------- Previous post was at 13:32 ---------- Here is a video so you can see my issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4PSFnrW0Ok |

Note that on his copy/paste the stats for all 3 channels are scrunched together. With that in mind this: Correctable Codewords 1488257N/A Uncorrectable Codewords 274265282N/A Becomes this: Correctable Codewords 148 / 82 / 57 / N/A Uncorrectable Codewords 274 / 265 / 282 / N/A Which is fine! ---------- Post added at 15:16 ---------- Previous post was at 15:14 ---------- Quote:

lol thanks Ig, Id noticed it was 3 channels and wondered why there were only 1 set of codewords :D bearing that in mind you can see my concerns! still it got you involved :p: I still think you should try connecting direct to the modem and keep an eye on any T4's/unicast response attempted . Im now off to hang my explanation of codewords poster up in my bedroom, me obsessed? never :p: |
