Telewest challenges misleading BT broadband ad

Telewest have recently complained to the (ASA) Advertising Standards Authority, over an unfair and misleading poster advert for BT Broadband. The advert claimed that BT offered the same broadband speed as Telewest but was priced significantly lower per month.
According to news source M2, Telewest have said that the price difference was unfair and misleading given that BT has a 1GB monthly data allowance, customers also need a BT line and need to purchase a modem.
BT have admitted the mistake and that certain information was not included within the advert. Telewest’s complaint was upheld by the ASA.
