VM e-mail Homepage

Hi everyone, I have been using the old VM e-mail page to access my e-mails. I've logged on this evening only to find that the "new" one is loading.... is there anyway i can use the old one?

The reason i stayed on the old one is because i had the whole screen to see my list of e-mails as opposed to the now one-third of the lower half of the page, it is really annoying.

Before when the new page first came about it asked me if i wanted to stay with that or use the old page. Now it does not.

I hope i'm not stuck with the new one.... it sucks!
any advice would be welcome
thanks

Re: VM e-mail Homepage

I've just looked at my VM webmail page and there is a lot more than 1/3 of the page available for message headers so I'm guessing you have a low res screen.

It does have a banner ad and then some sort of VM toolbar before the actual gmail page. I'd suggest you use FireFox + Adblock Plus and use that to block both the banner ad and the VM toolbar which are essentially a waste of screen space.

Example (pages cropped horizontally + some personal info blanked out) ...

With ads (unchanged VM webmail page)

Ads removed (Ad and the VM toolbar frame both blocked)

Re: VM e-mail Homepage

Unfortunately the new layout is the default one now - Google have migrated all it's customers across to the new look

Re: VM e-mail Homepage

Of course the other solution which I forgot to mention which is better long term is to get your own personal email account (paid for or free) and stop using ISP emails. If you look at my VM webmail screenshot you'll see that virtually nothing has been read - that's because I just forward any email to it on to my own email account. having lots of stuff registered with an ISP email account is a big disincentive if you ever want to move on. It's probably the main reason just about all ISPs give you their email accounts.
