What phone to get?

I currently have an HTC Desire HD and Vodafone are now allowing me to upgrade but I dunno what to get.

I am very interested in the Galaxy S2. What are peoples reviews on this?

Also maybe thinking about the HTC Sensation. Not interested in an iPhone or Blackberry.

So any other suggestions or views on the S2 or Sensation?

Re: What phone to get?

I think it depends on what you want out of a phone. I have a Sensation but I can now say if I had your choice I'd keep the Desire and get a cheaper tariff.

Re: What phone to get?

I bought a HTC EVO 3D sim free from Asda for £250. It's better than the standard.sensation and I think the xl but not the xe or the galaxy s2. Now I'm going to switch to a £10pm contract, I just haven't yet decided wether to stick with T-Mobile or switch back to three.

Re: What phone to get?

I'm in the same boat - got a Desire HD and I can upgrade now at anytime. But I'm going to wait and see what's announced next week at MWC.

Re: What phone to get?

Money is an issue for me though. I doubt the S3 will be free on the tarriff I am paying. I know if I get the S2 I can keep the same tarriff and save myself a fiver to. And get the phone for free.

Re: What phone to get?

for the S2 from me. Having had the chance to play with various smartphones (the kids get through many & so do work colleagues) IMO the S2 wins. Do like the sense GUI from HTC tho.

Re: What phone to get?

I've just upgraded from a BlackBerry 9700 Bold to the Galaxy S2 after I asked exactly the same question on a different forum!

I would have liked an iPhone 4S but because of my tariff (£25 a month Unlimited everything) that I got ages ago they wanted me to pay £140 or change to a £40 a month tariff. I declined.

I could have the S2 for free probably because an S3 is coming soon, but I don't mind that because I know it is fully tested and works well. Hardware wise it is the same spec as an iPhone 4S (Dual Core, 8MP camera etc.) but the screen is slightly bigger which suits my chunky boy fingers.

I've had it just over a week and I really like it. The apps are great and more appear to be free in the Android marketplace than in the app store for the iPhone.

I would recommend it.
