Swapping HDDs

How easy is this to do? Is it easy to transfer all the information over to the new HDD?

Re: Swapping HDDs

There are two ways of doing it. One is to copy an image of the HDD as is - leaving whatever spare space on the new harddrive as spare (never done this personally)

My preferred method is to start from scratch with the new HDD and connect the existing one as secondary and copy everything you want over

Re: Swapping HDDs

It's pretty easy to do.

There is a feature in this weeks Micro Mart magazine with step-by-step instructions of how to backup and replace the hard drive....it should still be in shops but if it's not I could scan the article for you.

Re: Swapping HDDs

Here's a good article on doing it, just back your save games etc up to a USB Memory Stick or something and copy them back when the new drive is in and formatted http://www.gamersreports.com/article/43/

Re: Swapping HDDs

It is easy to install it but the pain is when you have to redownload your patches etc
